The Teacher's Pocket Guide for Effective Classroom Management

This approachable guide for pre- and in-service teachers discusses the key elements of behavior management in the classroom, including preventing challenging behaviors and maintaining a conducive classroom climate for learning.This book takes a thumbnail approach to behavior management in the classroom: its intent is not to cover every issue, aspect, or problem that could come up, but rather to focus on whole class management in a quick and easy way. While there are numerous textbooks in the field that focus on what is referred to as ""behavior management,"" there is a need to provide teachers and teacher candidates with a brief, user-friendly guide (written in conversational language) that highlights the most important elements for establishing and maintaining a conducive classroom climate for learning. In particular, this guide will highlight the critical aspects (the foundation) of effective classroom management with emphasis on prevention of problem behavior.
