A good condition book. Undated but contemporary prize annotation on front free endpaper lists 1886. Severe scuffing and marks to half-leather covers and spine. Cracks in the hinge beside both boards but neither feel loose. Pencil scribbles on pastedowns. Page edges have been thumbed. Internal contents are pleasantly clear throughout for the book's age and binding is nice and firm. A lovely illustrated copy with crisp and clean pages. Good condition is defined as: a copy that has been read but remains in clean condition. All of the pages are intact and the cover is intact and the spine may show signs of wear.
