This book is written by two award-winning instructors. Ken Rand and Kim Thomas met at an educational conference in Chicago, where Kim received her Illinois Teacher of the Year award. After a short but fruitful conversation, they quickly discovered that their teaching philosophies of connecting and engaging students were remarkably similar. The other author, Kim Thomas, has taught junior high school math for the past 29 years and has recently been awarded the honor of Illinois 'Teacher of the Year.'
