The divide between Hope and Desperation runs very thin...
Trecheon Omnir’s time is running out. A deadly Wish hangs over his head. His life hangs by the sins of his past in bloody shreds. Worse yet, he’s dragged his adoptive son Philip Black into his mess, entangling them both. Trecheon has no escape – only a directive. Do whatever Bob Ackerson wants, or die… and take Philip with him.
Trecheon becomes the White Assassin once again, leaving a trail of corpses for his captor, this time targeting friends. Friends who have failed to rescue him in the year he’s been missing. Beaten, starving, and isolated, Trecheon’s hope quickly becomes desperation. Angus’ scrying prediction proved false. His friends have abandoned him. And he’s alone.
Until Matt shows up at his door.
Matt Azure has spent every waking moment searching for the quilar he lost a year ago. Trecheon’s assassin past weighs heavy on Matt’s heart, but he can’t let that get between them. Not after all they’d been through. Not when he might be in love with him…
If only he could see beyond the assassin.
But losing Trecheon isn’t an option - which gives Ackerson the perfect trap for them both. Now Matt faces a delicate balancing act; keep Ackerson distracted while his allies figure out how to break Trecheon’s Death Wish. That means completing Ackerson's hit list... no matter who they're sent after.
Matt’s time is also running out.
Hope and desperation race along the same road. Matt must prevent the inevitable wreck - even if that means destroying himself.
For Trecheon’s sake.
