Single sheet, four-panel promotional information regarding Kemp's Balsam for the Throat and Lungs on one side, opening to a full page advertisement for Kemp's Liver Pills on the other. 31.5 x 15 cm., printed in green. Both products were manufactured in Leroy, New York by Orator F. Woodward, "after a prescription of Dr. Wagner Kemp," available in its trademark green wrapping. No listings found on OCLC. Orator F. Woodward Medicine Co. was established in Leroy, New York in 1881, when he secure the rights to produce Kemp's Balsam. Woodward also bought the rights to the Jello formula, later sold to General Foods by his heirs. Woodward's obituary in the Buffalo Evening News, Jan. 22, 1906, mentions numerous businesses from which he made his fortune as director or stockholder, including the Genesee Pure Food Company, LeRoy Plow Company, LeRoy National Bank, LeRoy Water Commissioner, in addition to his proprietary medicine company.
