Burgett’s off-beat view of being a patient—worse yet, one who peed (he hoped) invisibly almost any place anytime, until nature, time, his urologist, and some magic pills mercifully intervened—is directed at any male targeted to harshly host man’s second most prevalent disease. It’s also written for their spouses, kids, parents, and arm-distance friends. In other words, almost everybody. Gordon had most of the usual treatments, told the usual lies, slept next to the washroom (and sometimes woke up in it), yet he also kept his publishing business alive, wrote articles and books, bemused “please-don’t-touch” buddies, and spoke to unaware groups (in public). In other words, take a read so that if you too live (and don’t die) by the PSA you’ll know what’s up, what sounds awful but isn’t much, what nobody mentions but actually is kind of awful, and a nifty, little-known regimen to use when you must urinate through a hole smaller than a pin prick for weeks. Acerca del autor

Gordon Burgett currently speaks nationwide about “open” publishing, niche publishing, and empire building by writing and speaking. He offers keynotes, break-out sessions, seminars, and workshops at conventions, regional meetings, retreats, and through colleges and universities. His most recently published books, of 44, are Surviving Prostate Cancer, How to Get Your Book Published Free in Minutes and Marketed Worldwide in Days, and Niche Publishing: Publishing Profitably Every Time! Burgett has also published 1,700+ articles and offered over 2,000 professional paid spoken presentations. He has owned and directed a publishing company, Communication Unlimited, since 1981. Gordon earned four academic degrees, was twice a university dean, taught Portuguese and history, created a city recreation program in Illinois, directed CARE (and Peace Corps) programs in Colombia and Ecuador, twice studied in Brazil, played a pinch of professional baseball, and led a gold hunt up the Paushi Yaco (Upper Amazon) River in Ecuador. He survived to write blogs and a monthly newsletter. Gordon also spent most of the past year as a prostate cancer patient, which he talks about in this book, from the perspective of the patient undergoing active treatment while continuing to direct a publishing firm, writing books and articles, and giving public speeches and seminars. This book starts with the discovery and ends with his PSA plummeting to zero.

Efectos del desistimiento
