Visit enough growing churches and the surprising part is how unremarkable the list is. The service starts when it says it will and ends when it says it will. The order does not change from week to week. The first five minutes are scripted and rehearsed. A guest cannot leave the building without being known. That is the design concept, and it is the argument of this book. Sunday is not a series of events you survive. It is a system, and systems either compound or they leak. The disciplines also ladder. Clock discipline is what makes a locked format possible. A locked format is what makes the first five minutes scriptable. A scripted opening is what earns you a guest's information. Guest capture feeds the follow-up. The follow-up feeds the second visit. The second visit feeds First Step. First Step feeds the metrics, and the metrics tell you whether the route is still holding. Pull one switch out of that chain and everything above it slackens.

That is what mastery looks like. It is not a bigger idea. It is a smaller one, repeated until it holds weight.
Sheldon J. Each chapter names a belief that is quietly capping your church's growth, takes you into the consulting room conversation Andrus has with the pastor, grounds it in Scripture, and then hands you the audit, the scripts, and the work session that flip the switch. Read one chapter. Do the audit. Run the work session. Implement for four Sundays. Then read the next one.
None of this was theorized. As Executive Pastor at Union Church under Pastor Stephen Chandler, Andrus engineered the systems behind growth from 2,000 members to 15,000 in three years. At The Word Church under Dr. R.A. Vernon, he launched two campuses and redesigned the staff during a season crowned by 40 percent growth in attendance. We ask all customers to contact us for authorisation should they wish to return their order. Orders returned without authorisation may not be credited.
If you wish to return, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order to obtain authorisation.
Returns requested beyond this time will not be authorised.
