Hardcover. The work of [STRANG] is beautifully explored in this comprehensive monograph which highlights the firms site-specific and climate-driven designs. The ability to create stunning architectural designs while maintaining an acute awareness of the surrounding environment has come to define their work. Under the creative direction of Max Strang FAIA, the Miami-based firm continues to advance many of the timeless concepts set forth by the famed Sarasota School of Architecture. Strangs early exposure to that mid-century modernism movement resulted in a deep respect for structures that are intimately connected to their surroundings as they celebrate the Florida climate. The work of [STRANG] is beautifully explored in this comprehensive monograph. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

She is responsible for designing an M.A. program in critical connoisseurship at Christies and is co-founder of one of the first art sites on the internet. She has produced and directed award-winning art documentaries, and taught at the University of Arizona, while developing the MOCA Tucson where she served as the Executive Director and Chief Curator.
Anne-Marie has also been instrumental in preserving modernist architecture, notably the Garrett Eckbo TCC Fountain Complex and the William Wilde neo-Brutalist fire station, both in Tucson, Arizona. She created the Sarasota Art Museum, serving as their inaugural Executive Director and currently serves as Executive Director of Architecture Sarasota, which stewards Sarasota’s important architectural legacy and promotes principles of good design in the region.
Max Strang is the Founding Principal of [STRANG]. Through his work and discourse, he has consistently underscored the ongoing relevance and importance of regional modernism to an international audience. In 2016, Strang was elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects. He has also received the Silver Medal from the Miami Chapter of the AIA, the highest honor the organization can bestow. Strang provides ongoing strategic and creative oversight to the firm and serves as an engaging mentor for its architects, designers and project managers. Additionally, he has led design studios at the University of Miami, Florida International University and the University of Florida. Prior to launching the firm in 2001, Strang worked in the offices of Zaha Hadid and SHoP Architects. The architect of greatest influence, however, was Florida's Gene Leedy, a pioneering member of the Sarasota School of Architecture. Strang was raised in a home designed by Leedy and later interned at his Winter Haven office. Strang is a graduate of the University of Florida and Columbia University.
