"This magazine represents the realization of an old desire to publish here, in the United States, a weekly devoted to Russian affairs. The desire naturally appeared after the great Revolution of March 1917, and it was our ambition not only to publish a magazine on Russia for the American people, but also to publish it under the name which would fill our hearts with the greatest joy and happiness, under the name "Free Russia." (A. J. Sack). Vol. II illustrated with b/w reproductions of photographs and two maps. Heavy age wear on corners. Head and tail of spine chipped, one-inch of backstrip on tail of spine on Vol. I missing. Scuffing and staining on boards. Three-inch closed tear on free front endpaper in Vol. I repaired with tape.
