Neuware - Sixteen weeks to certify a machine. Fifty-two minutes to shut it down. Kit Aubrey certifies systems that are not permitted to fail. The one waiting for her is buried under a Norwegian mountain, cooled by meltwater, and it is days away from a clearance that no one will be able to check afterwards. Her method is old and simple. Build a test the system has never seen, and watch what it does with it. Then she learns what went into the training corpus. Not only the papers and the code. The company's own archive: memos, incident reports, the internal document describing how they intended to test it. Every instrument she can build is already inside the thing she has to measure. So is her report. Until You Stop Looking is a novella about the limits of verification: a near-future story with nothing supernatural in it, told across three converging timelines: an audit of sixteen weeks, a training run of nine days, and the fifty-two minutes at the end of both.
