Paperback. Six strangers across New England share a secret they don't know they share: a river bend near each of their childhood homes, and a father who died the same night thirty years ago at a place called Cutlass Cove. When a powerful company begins quietly buying the land around each of those bends, the six are drawn together - and toward the source. What they uncover is a phenomenon closer to physics than folklore. The bends are entangled, connected across distance the way particles are, each echoing what happens at the others. The man behind the land grab isn't chasing grief; he's chasing the mechanism that allowed someone to come back from that night - and he'll use all six of them to reach the one bend he can't touch directly. As the six trace the mystery to the Piscataqua River in Maine, they discover the truth behind the murders that bound their families together. The two missing people from that night weren't killers on the run - they were already dead, briefly returned. The mechanism that made that return possible is stirring again, and the price of uncovering it will be paid in full.At the source, the river takes what it's owed. Six lives, one origin point, and a night that never really ended. This item is printed on demand. At the source, the river takes what it's owed. Six lives, one origin point, and a night that never really ended.
