Chapter One

Why Are We Here?

There is a much bigger plan for you and me, and one that is sometimes difficult to comprehend. Metaphysicians have known about this philosophy since ancient times—in Egypt nearly three millennia BC and in Greece where philosophers like Socrates and Pythagoras taught half a millennium BC. It doesn't matter whether you follow a religion or not, there is an eternal vibration and purpose to your existence, and to the experiences you are having right now. Scientists are slowly catching up to philosophy, and every year more credibility and truth is revealed, and more people are discovering this as their own truth through their own experiences.

Since childhood I have had the ability to see the spirits of those who have passed. As a child I was told it was my imagination. As an adult I have been helping people reconnect to their lost loved ones for over eighteen years. While many sceptics don't believe the soul exists after death, more and more people are starting to experience and witness this phenomenon for themselves and so it's no longer just a few psychics who can tune in and communicate with the souls of the deceased.

I believe that each soul has a plan—a pathway and direction—that it has come here to experience in this lifetime. I believe we have a destiny, although I also believe there are many different pathways to this destiny. That is where choice comes in. Why am I so sure about my belief? It has come to me through a knowing—a knowing that is continually expanded and validated through the work that I do. Through my work it became quite apparent to me that, on a subconscious or higher level of awareness, we know what our plan and direction is for this lifetime, including when it's our destiny to depart the earth plane. We are not consciously aware of our time to depart, which is probably a good thing considering most people's fear of death. Communication between spirits and their loved ones who have been left on this side strongly suggests we do know. I've lost count of the number of spirits who, before they passed, did things that were unusual or out of character. It was only after they had passed and when the circumstances were examined, could these actions be interpreted as a subconscious setting of things in order in readiness for their passing.

I will give you a few examples of my client's experiences that have confirmed this idea.

A young lad was killed in an accident. Several months before his passing, he quit his apprenticeship and told everyone, "I'm too young to be tied down. Life is too short, and I want to enjoy it!" He travelled and visited all his relatives and spent quality time with them. After his death, his father said, "It's as if he must have known."

One of my clients had a husband who didn't believe in psychics. Just before they were about to go for a motorbike ride together one afternoon, he declared he didn't want to go. "I feel sure that someone is going to be killed," he told his wife. He was so adamant that they cancelled the trip. The following weekend my client had to work, so her husband went off on his motorbike by himself. He was killed that day, and had my client been with her husband, she also could have been killed. My client told me, "On some level he must have known that it was his time and that it wasn't mine."

Another client was the father of a loving daughter who always kissed her mother whenever she went out of the house. She never kissed her father even though she loved him just as dearly. On the night, she kissed her mother as usual and left. But a couple of minutes later she ran back into the house, wrapped her arms around her father, told him she loved him, and kissed him goodbye. That night she was killed in a motor accident. He told me, "In my own heart, and without really knowing it at the time, I knew on some level—and so did she—that she was not coming home."

I could go on and on about the knowledge I have gained from spirit about our lives—and our deaths and the seemingly small coincidences that happen as we pass from one realm to the other. Yes, when it's one client and one story, we might suspect that it could be just a coincidence, but when so many people are experiencing the same phenomena, then to me these experiences are more than just random.

There are so many philosophies and beliefs out there, so how do we know what to believe? You have all the answers within you—we all do—and when something feels right, you just know it is so. You will feel it; it will resonate with you. Often you can't explain why, but you just know.

Within me is a knowing and a feeling about the universe and all that is contained within, but I know many of you may need a little bit more than my own statement of conviction to convince you. My challenge is this: How do I put something into words that is beyond our comprehension for our state of evolution at this time? Only fifteen years ago, I ran a huge risk of being ridiculed and rejected whenever I told someone that I was a psychic. Psychics were considered by the masses to be "loopy loos" who wore long purple flowing gowns whilst slinging a crystal ball. Today we have evolved our consciousness and understanding. Psychics are more widely accepted, and we can all come safely out of the closet. While we psychics have a philosophy about the universe, I believe it will be a long time before this philosophy is respected and accepted by the general population. And that acceptance will only come when people have evolved their understanding through their own experiences.

We are changing and evolving just like everything else in the universe, and that is our eternal purpose. I am going to try to explain my "knowing and feeling" to the best of my ability, but if I lose you along the way, I just ask that you keep an open mind to the possibilities I express, and use your feelings and your heart to feel which of my ideas can help you form a knowing or understanding of your own.

My knowing and feeling is that there is a creative force of conscious energy that contains us. We are connected directly to it, and therefore connected to each other. This energy force has been given many names over the centuries—God, Creator, Great Spirit, White Light, Universe, Allah, Brahma, Chi, Mana—but they all refer to the same thing: a super and powerful consciousness that is all knowing and the creator of all. Most people can accept and agree that there is a higher power or super consciousness.

At this moment you're experiencing life on the physical earth plane. I believe it is your choice to be here, and if you weren't here you wouldn't just be "gone," you'd be in another plane of existence. I remember asking my mother when I was seven years old, "If I weren't here where would I be?" Her answer was, "You wouldn't be anywhere." I didn't accept this answer because I was already seeing spirit, and so I keep pestering her: "Where would I be?" She finally told me I'd be in heaven. "But where is heaven?" My poor mother didn't have the answers, but even at the age of seven it didn't feel right to me that a person just "couldn't exist."

I now believe there are many planes of existence in which we can exist and many realities we can experience based on our level of conscious evolvement and the level of our soul vibration. I also sense through knowing as well as my experience with spirit that souls stick together in soul groups because they are at the same level of conscious evolvement. We can't be any more than what our souls know. And we gain knowledge by evolving through multiple levels.

In quantum physics Albert Einstein discovered pockets of energy wholeness called quantum pockets. These pockets of energy form a vibrational pattern that is found on every scale and at every level of energy presence. This pattern of energy flow is the same pattern found in the tiniest atom, and it's also the same pattern of energy flow found in the magnetic field around the earth. It is even the same as our own personal magnetic field, or aura. This self-organising energy pattern draws on and is made up of its own surroundings, yet it remains distinct with in. These energy patterns are balanced and self-regulating and always the same pattern no matter what their size. So basically, everything that has an energy vibration is using and attracting its surroundings to self-regulate and evolve, yet it is able to remain distinct within. I believe the ability of this energy to self-regulate creates a consciousness of its own. This defiantly fits in with my feelings of how the soul and universe exist and the process of soul evolution.

Based on this principle of energy flow I would explain the universe as everything existing within a massive quantum pocket of energy vibration (we could call it God consciousness). Existing within this, and making up this pocket of energy vibration, are many other quantum pockets of energy vibration with different levels of energy vibration and consciousness. These form other planes of existence. Through the evolution process, each quantum pocket of consciousness is knowing and self-regulating itself and, through this process of self-regulation, its evolving to a higher level of energy vibration and consciousness. Every quantum pocket of energy right up to the God consciousness is doing exactly the same thing, in exactly the same way and pattern ... evolving.

So let's start with you ... your soul is a quantum pocket of conscious energy vibration. It is contained within your physical body for this lifetime experience. Everyone else on the earth plane is also a quantum pocket of conscious energy vibration, and together with all other forms of energy vibration on the earth plane, you are part of a larger quantum pocket of conscious energy that is the mass consciousness of the earth plane.

Every other plane of existence—including the spirit realms—has its own level of evolved mass consciousness made up of the collective soul energies (quantum pockets of consciousness) that make up that plane at the time. When you die and you leave the earth plane as spirit consciousness, you then go to another plane of existence that is in alignment with the level of your evolved consciousness. You will then take your place and become part of this quantum pocket of mass consciousness and you will continue with your evolution process. You can move from plane to plane as long as your vibration and evolved consciousness is at the same level as that plane or lower. Spirit can visit us on this plane, and we can astral project into other planes, but only the ones that have a conscious evolvement that is not higher than our own.

We are all part of and contained within this super consciousness, which is the creator of all. You may have heard people say, "God is within you." This is another way of saying that this energy is defiantly part of you. You can't have one conscious realm or quantum pocket without the other, for they are all part of the same and yet they remain distinct within. The universe could not exist if you were not part of it.

I believe our conscious awareness is quite primitive when compared to the consciousness in the bigger scheme of the universe, and this is why we are here on planet earth. I believe there are other beings out there that are a lot more aware than we are, but we can't join them, and most of the people on earth can't see them or communicate with them because we haven't evolved our consciousness to their level yet. There are those of us who walk the earth plane, however, who can see more and communicate with energies others can't see. But experiences of the masses are still evolving. I believe we choose a conscious purpose of evolution, and at this moment we are using the earth plane as a medium to evolve.

Using the earth plane to evolve

We can see that the collective mass consciousness of the earth plane is changing as we begin to awaken to the higher vibrations of energy and more and more people are starting to witness the unexplainable. Do you feel that time seems to be going faster these days? Time isn't going faster—our watches still work exactly the same—but our perception of time is that it is going faster.

The consciousness of the masses is evolving, and thus vibrates at a faster level, giving the illusion that time is going faster. Think about how fast times flies when you are having a wonderful day as opposed to how slowly your day drags if you are bored and unhappy. On your fun day, your consciousness is lifted with a more positive vibration and therefore gives the illusion of time passing quickly. On your boring day your consciousness is vibrating more slowly with negativity and therefore gives you the illusion that time is dragging.

It is the same for the mass consciousness of the earth plane. Our mass consciousness on the earth plane at this time is lifting, giving us the illusion that time is going faster and allowing more of us to connect to our intuitive sides and our true beings. Lifting our vibration and consciousness awareness is what allows us to connect to psychic ability and the higher vibrations of knowing our soul truths and purposes. If this doesn't happen among the masses, we will end up destroying Mother Earth.

The mass consciousness is awakening faster and faster and will continue to do so over the next few centuries through individual and mass experiences, both good and bad, of all who inhabit the earth plane. I believe we will evolve our consciousness enough to save Mother Earth as long as we all start listening and connecting to our inner gifts.

You are no different! You want to change and evolve in this life or you wouldn't have bought this book. There is instinctual part of us—an inner knowing—that keeps us on our pathway to evolving ... always looking for new ways to improve and grow. Even as a species we are changing. We are living longer, getting taller, and always breaking new world records.

So how do we evolve our souls? By drawing on the energy around it to self-regulate and evolve. Evolution can't happen without change. You can't evolve from a baby to an adult without using food and water to support the physiological processes the body requires to change. In order for your soul energy to evolve, it must use the environment around it as a catalyst that will cause change in some way. It uses other quantum pockets, the mass consciousness, and experience to do this.

Your conscious soul and destiny

Your soul vibration contains conscious memory cells that hold all the information of every experience your soul has ever had thus far, including all experiences in all other lifetimes. The earth plane in its mass consciousness holds the memory cells of every energy vibration that it has ever experienced, including the lives of all who have existed on the earth plane. Every other realm of existence also has the memory cells of its experiences and evolution. You have left energy footprints wherever you have previously been—on the earth plane and the spirit planes—and you have the memory of these footprints stored in your energy cells and energy field. This is why it is possible to access past life memories.

Within your soul vibration you also hold your blueprint and profile for this lifetime, which includes what experiences you need to attract and experience in this conscious realm to evolve your own consciousness, the consciousness of all those around you, and the consciousness of the earth plane.

Everything in existence is linked and part of a much bigger picture. Our own personal evolvement plays a part in the evolvement of those around us, which plays a part in the evolvement of the earth plane, which plays a part in the evolvement of the universe, which plays a part in the evolvement of all other levels of consciousness, which plays a part in the evolvement of the God consciousness! You play a very important part in something much bigger than you can even imagine.

All of this is well and good, but for practical purposes we have to start at the place we are right now and at the level of evolution our own consciousness has attained. So let's begin by developing an understanding of your own conscious soul.

In 2006 Rhonda Burn released a wonderful film called The Secret. Rhonda contributed to a mass awakening of this universal law that had been known for centuries but was keep secret and hidden from the masses: the law of attraction. A universal law is like gravity—it just is and therefore it should be the same for everyone. A lot of people who applied this law started attracting all they desired, but for a large number of people it didn't work at all. Why is this? Why would it work for some but not for others? It's a universal law; it has to work! The answer is in your soul lessons: you can trick the mind, but you can't trick the vibration of your soul. Most people are subconsciously attracting their soul lessons. If you don't know these soul lessons exist, then you will learn them by attracting them through awareness and experience.

Your conscious soul is like a magnet that is attracting and drawing to itself all that it needs in order to know itself and self-regulate to a higher level of consciousness.
