This book aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the various services that are available to help cities develop their smart communities. It includes a variety of topics such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, advanced computing, and the Internet of Everything.

Smart Cities: Blockchain, AI, and Advanced Computing is structured with independent chapters, each highlighting the current and future state-of-the-art technologies addressing smart city challenges. The book covers a variety of application areas, including healthcare, transportation, smart grids, supply chain management, and financial systems. There are both theoretical and empirical investigations in this book; they cover a wide range of topics related to smart city development and implementation, among others, all of which have a significant impact on the creation of smart cities. This book then examines the state‑of‑the‑art blockchain technology for smart city challenges and programs that might enhance the quality of life in urban areas and encourage cultural and economic growth.

Bhisham Sharma received a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from the PEC University of Technology (Formerly Punjab Engineering College), Chandigarh, India. He is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Chitkara University, Punjab, India. He is also working as a member of the Chitkara University Research & Innovation Network (CURIN). He is having 13 years of teaching and research experience at various reputed Universities in India. His research interests include Mobile Computing, Cloud Computing, Quantum Computing, Wireless Communication, Wireless Sensor Networks, Wireless Mesh Networks, Next Generation Networking, Network Security, Internet of Things, UAV, Medical Image Processing, and Edge/Fog Computing in which he has published over 80 research papers in reputed SCI and Scopus indexed journals, international conferences, and book chapters.

Manik Gupta is Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh, India with more than 12 years of experience. His research interests include Blockchain, Internet of Things, Internet of Vehicles, Vehicular Area Networks, Game Theory, Wireless Sensor Networks, and Body Area Networks. Gwanggil Jeon received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea, in 2003, 2005, and 2008, respectively. He is currently a Full Professor at Incheon National University, Incheon, Korea, and was a visiting professor at Sichuan University, China, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain, Xinjiang University, China, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Bangkok, Thailand, and University of Burgundy, Dijon, France.

Gwanggil Jeon received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. (summa cum laude) degrees from the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea, in 2003, 2005, and 2008, respectively. He is currently a Full Professor at Incheon National University, Incheon, Korea. He was a Visiting Professor at Sichuan University, China, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain, Xinjiang University, China, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Bangkok, Thailand, and University of Burgundy, Dijon, France. Dr. Jeon is an IEEE Senior Member, an Associate Editor of Sustainable Cities and Society, IEEE Access, Real-Time Image Processing, Journal of System Architecture, and MDPI Remote Sensing. Dr. Jeon was a recipient of the IEEE Chester Sall Award in 2007, the ETRI Journal Paper Award in 2008, and Industry-Academic Merit Award by Ministry of SMEs and Startups of Korea Minister in 2020.
