If your confirmands and church members equate "Catechism" with PTSD... you're sunk. They'll never learn to use the catechism in daily life.
If your confirmands and church members never master the doctrines of the catechism for themselves... they're sunk. It will be impossible for them to "give an answer for their faith" (1 Peter 3:15)
The BEST WAY to help address these challenges is to find ways to help your students learn the doctrines and vocabulary of the catechism in a fun way. Listen I know we are suspicious of "ministry" that focuses on fun. But that's simply because 99% of the time, the so-called "fun" is completely detached from either learning or doctrine. There's nothing "Trivial" in Martin Luther's Small Catechism. But when we put the doctrine and content of the small catechism in "Trivia Game Format", suddenly students and instructor can join together in a fun learning exercise that challenves the student to appropriate the catechism for themselves. That's the way that learning best occurs...and makes it more likely the student can grow to be someoene who LOVES and LIVES OUT the catechism!
Here's how that breaks down:
- This acknowledges that many adults never carry the catechism with them. It was pure drudery. They think it's better left behind. That's because they couldn't engage the catechism in a way that allowed them to appropriate it for themselves. This format lets them start engaging the catechism in a fun but challenging way.
- Kids (and adults) need a break from the lecture. This kind of break lets them review, learn the material from different perspectives, and keep immersing themselves in the study of the catechism while making it a "game".
- Listen our goal is to have students take the catechism with them ... to inspire their prayers, to equip them in times of struggle, to be the kind of biblical summary that the Holy Spirit uses in their lives to live faithfully in the world around them. If we believe the catechism gives our students an advantage over people who never learn the catechism, we owe it to ourselves and our students to do everything possible to help them make it their own!
- The Small Catechism: These 98 questions and answers cover the major sections of the catechism and key Bible doctrines related to it. So it's comprehensive.
- Trivia Format:These randomized trivia style questions force the student to begin to grapple with the words of the catechism and associated doctrines in order to understand it for themselves.
- Invites Learning: The best learning format is when students ask questions for themselves about the catechism and the instructor can share truth at the POINT OF INQUIRY. The short and sometimes cryptic answers casuse students to invite catechists into their world to provide the answers they want as they request them. What more could an instructor want?

Returns Policy
We ask all customers to contact us for authorisation should they wish to return their order. Orders returned without authorisation may not be credited.
If you wish to return, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order to obtain authorisation.
Returns requested beyond this time will not be authorised.
Our team will provide full instructions on how to return your order and once received our returns department will process your refund.
Please note the cost to return any unwanted order to us is borne by the buyer.
