Slow Wine US is a new and revolutionary guide to the wines of California, Oregon, New York and Washington. Thanks to the help of a handful of expert contributors, we’ve selected the best wineries from each state and reviewed their most outstanding bottles.
The idea behind Slow Wine is simple: it acknowledges the unique stories of people and vineyards, of grape varieties and landscapes, and of their wines. The awareness that wine is more than just liquid in a glass helps wine lovers make better, more conscious choices and enhances the very enjoyment of these products.
Since its beginnings in Italy thirteen years ago, Slow Wine has combined its tasting sessions with equally important moments of exchange and debate with producers. The direct contact to winegrowers and winemakers allows for a genuine, authentic and always up-to-date report on what’s happening in America’s vineyards and cellars.
The contents
Each winery receives a review divided in three sections: the first one dedicated to the people who live and work at the winery, the second to the vineyards and the way they’re farmed, the third to the finest wines currently available on the market.
The very best wines are awarded the Top Wine accolade. Among these we have the Slow Wines - which beyond their outstanding sensory quality are of particular interest for their sense of place, environmental sustainability or historical value - and the Everyday Wines, representing excellent value at prices within 30$.
The most interesting wineries on the other hand are awarded the Snail, for the way they interpret Slow Food values (sensory perceptions, territory, environment, identity) while offering good value for money; the Bottle, to wineries whose wines are of outstanding sensory quality throughout the range; the Coin to those estates offering excellent value for money.

Acerca del autor
Pam Strayer is a journalist who specialized in health, science and the environment for 30+ years, before expanding into wine journalism as well in 2010. In wine, her focus is organic and biodynamic producers as well as general eco-wine topics. She has studied wine at U.C. Berkeley (where she earned a certificate), U.C. Davis, and the North American Sommelier Association. The author of 5 published wine apps, she was the conference program director for the International Biodynamic Wine Conference in San Francisco held in 2018 and more recently consulted to Vivino on organic and biodynamic wines. Her writings appear in Pix, Santé, Daily Seven Fifty and Wine Business and more. She has given guest lectures at Santa Rosa Community College, and for community groups in Sonoma and Napa, as well as for Women of the Vine & Spirits, the OIV Wine Marketing Program at U.C. Davis and Sonoma State's Wine Business Institute. She is a guest at international conferences on wine and the environment. Para ejercer el derecho de desistimiento, complete de forma electrónica y envíe una declaración clara en nuestro sitio web, desde "Mis compras" en "Mi cuenta". Le enviaremos sin demora un acuse de recibo de dicho desistimiento a través de un soporte duradero (por ejemplo, por correo electrónico).
Para cumplir con el plazo de desistimiento, basta con que envíe su comunicación relativa al ejercicio del derecho de desistimiento antes de que venza el periodo de desistimiento.
Efectos del desistimiento
Si rescinde este contrato, le reembolsaremos todos los pagos que hayamos recibido de usted, incluidos los gastos de envío (excepto los gastos adicionales que surjan si elige un tipo de envío que no sea el tipo de envío estándar más económico que ofrecemos).
Podemos hacer una deducción del reembolso por la pérdida de valor de cualquier bien suministrado, si la pérdida es el resultado de una manipulación innecesaria por su parte.
Efectuaremos el reembolso sin demoras indebidas y, a más tardar, 14 días después de que se nos informe de su decisión de rescindir este contrato.
Efectuaremos el reembolso utilizando el mismo medio de pago que utilizó para la transacción inicial, a menos que haya acordado expresamente lo contrario; en cualquier caso, no incurrirá en ningún cargo como resultado de dicho reembolso.

Deberá devolver los bienes o entregarlos a Ria Christie Collections, Uxbridge, United Kingdom, sin demoras indebidas y, en cualquier caso, en un plazo máximo de 14 días a partir del día en que nos comunique su desistimiento del presente contrato. El plazo se cumple si devuelve la mercancía antes de que venza el periodo de 14 días. Tendrá que asumir los gastos directos de devolución de los bienes. Usted solo es responsable de la disminución del valor de los bienes como resultado de una manipulación distinta a la necesaria para establecer la naturaleza, las características y el funcionamiento de los bienes.
Excepciones al derecho de desistimiento
El derecho de desistimiento no se aplica a lo siguiente:
- La entrega de periódicos, diarios o revistas, con la excepción de los contratos de suscripción; y
- El suministro de contenido digital que no se proporcione en un soporte tangible (por ejemplo, en un CD o DVD) si, al hacer el pedido, aceptó que podíamos empezar a entregarlo y que no podría desistir una vez iniciada la entrega.
