There is a world that the mortals sometimes glimpse in shadows or dreams, so beware where you walk at night and guard your dreams well. Because there really are things that go bump in the night!

This collection of six interconnected urban fantasy short stories serves up a series of bite-sized tastes of the broader universe of the upcoming "Shadows Over Seattle" novels. Since these stories were written over a ten-year span, each has been updated from its original releases for a more consistent reading experience.

"Under A Hunter’s Moon"

Richard Parsons is a rebellious wolf shifter who grew up in Seattle’s teen gangs. His knack for finding trouble has often drawn the police’s attention.

When a traveling exhibition returns to the McCaw Museum, Richard has personal reasons to visit it after hours. However, his bold plan takes an unexpected turn when a particular display brings painful memories to the surface. Can Richard confront the demons of his past before the police discover he is there??

"The Lupine’s Call"

Richard Parsons is a shapeshifter who struggles with a drinking problem-the latter being something his girlfriend is very aware of. She is determined to help him sober up, but their constant arguments are only making things worse. After storming out of their apartment during another heated dispute, he worries that this might be his first mistake of the night.

Will Richard’s drinking lead him into more trouble than he can handle?

"Wolves In The Desert"

When his squad is deployed to Iraq, Gunnery Sergeant Garfield Feldman leads them in a series of operations against forces loyal to Saddam Hussein. Recently, rumors have spread around the base that the enemy has acquired new tactics and discovered ways to ambush Marine units from buildings that have been declared clear.

Feldman’s team has been ordered to conduct a snatch-and-grab mission in enemy-held territory. However, the question remains: what lies behind those walls, and what can Feldman do to ensure the mission’s success?

"Appointment With Death"

Officer Agneta Dottasen of the Seattle Police Department has had a hectic night. With her partner out sick, she has been assigned to support other officers. However, a call to investigate reports of a traffic accident could change her night-and perhaps her entire life.

"April Fool"

Art Kiger owns the Devils Own, a quiet bar that serves the supernatural community. He can always tell when April Fools’ Day is approaching as the sudden influx of fae customers signals the pranks to come. However, one unexpected encounter forces him to confront the beast within.

Detective Janice Cooperfield is unaware of the chaotic day that awaits her. After waking from a car crash, she finds herself in unfamiliar surroundings, faced with creatures that parents use to scare their children.

Can the two of them survive the prank being played on them? Or will they be forced to navigate the schemes of a power neither can fully understand?

"The Challenge"

Art Kiger summons the lupine pack to discuss a threat from some new vampires in town, but he finds himself dealing with an entirely different challenge.

Will Art rise to the occasion, or will he find himself taking on more than he can handle?

How about I love falconry, have been licked by a wolf, had a lion cub fall asleep on my lap, had close encounters with moose, and still love the big city?

Or should I tell you about the gritty urban fantasy stories that I've written? How I love diving into the minds and emotions of the characters I create? Why I let their thoughts and feelings bleed through me onto the page while trying to tell the best stories I can? Because I write the stories I want to read, I fill the page with the fantastic while keeping everything grounded in the realities I create.

I somehow manage to do all this while working a full-time job, exploring the world of AI art, and creating products for book lovers.
