Book Four of The Shadow War Series
Two million dollars vanishes from a smuggler's boat in Miami. In its place: a single arrow, black-shafted with green fletching. Within weeks, the money surfaces as an anonymous donation to a children's home.
Someone is robbing the worst people in South Florida and giving everything to the best causes, and keeping not one cent.
John Blackwood knows what this is. Not a copycat. Not a vigilante. A myth, ancient and alive, running itself through a tired thief named August who can't remember the hours he loses or explain the money that keeps leaving his hands. Robin Hood has found a new host, and the legend is casting every role, a Sheriff who rides a horse unironically, a band of merry men who used to be ordinary criminals, a Maid who took vows to escape men who saw her as a thing to use.
Hired by a prosperity-gospel priest who wants the myth killed permanently, John must dismantle a story beloved by millions, not with weapons, but with the one thing no legend can survive: the truth.
But John isn't working alone. A young federal agent named Elijah has attached himself to the case, and he sees things most people don't, and he's eager to learn, and he's the first person in a very long time who's made John think the weight might finally be shared.
Every good myth offers you exactly what you need most.
John should know that better than anyone.
Mutiny of Mythologies is a novel about the stories we refuse to outgrow, and what happens when the most dangerous one is the story we tell ourselves about the person across the desk.
