Elara Morn has spent four years searching for the truth behind her father's disappearance. The Council of Nocthollow calls it abandonment. She calls it murder.
Her only lead is Kyle Draven-the feared heir of the city's most powerful family, cursed since birth with shadow magic that kills anyone he touches. The rumors say he murdered his own mother. They say he cannot control the darkness inside him. They say he has no heart left to break.
They are wrong about everything.
Kyle claims he can help Elara find answers. He claims the ancient Covenant that rules their hidden magical city is a lie. But when a mysterious book binds their fates together, Elara discovers a terrifying truth written in the curse itself: if she and Kyle fall into true love, one of them will die.
Now she must navigate a web of political corruption, forbidden magic, and a curse that feeds on loneliness. The deeper she digs into her father's research, the more she uncovers a conspiracy that reaches the highest seats of power. The original Covenant was never meant to protect Nocthollow. It was meant to control it.
And the Dravens have been playing a long game.
Kyle is not the monster the rumors describe. He is a prisoner in his own body, trapped by a curse his family earned through betrayal. But the curse is changing. Growing stronger. And now it has attached itself to Elara.
Bound together by shadow magic, hunted by a Council that wants their secrets buried forever, Elara and Kyle must descend into the darkest depths of the Undercroft. What they find there will rewrite everything they thought they knew about love, sacrifice, and the true cost of freedom.
Some truths are worth dying for.
Some loves are worth living for.
The Shadow Heir is a dark romantic fantasy about enemies who become allies, allies who become something more, and a curse that demands the ultimate price.
