In this book, Ralph Dykstra recounts many memories of the time he trained and flew fifty missions over the skies of Europe during the height of World War II. The stories of Ralph as a young soldier open before us in the pages that follow, and they convey experiences from the mundane to the extraordinary. They are written from the perspective of someone having lived a long and full life, but to be fully understood, must be read as experienced by a young man being in the constant stress of war, believing in his cause and joined in that effort by others of like mind and passion. And yes, they are the stories of a beloved father and husband.
