Neuware - 'Sculpture' by A.M. Rindge is an insightful and authoritative exploration of the plastic arts, offering a comprehensive look at the evolution and theory of three-dimensional form. This work serves as both a scholarly survey and a deep dive into the criteria for aesthetic appreciation. Rindge delves into the fundamental principles that define the medium, examining how materials, techniques, and cultural contexts shape the sculptor's vision across different eras. The book traverses various historical periods, providing critical analysis of significant movements and the masters who defined them. From the weight and balance of classical traditions to the emerging modern sensibilities of the early 20th century, Rindge offers a discerning perspective on the formal qualities of volume, space, and rhythm. By investigating the relationship between the viewer and the physical object, 'Sculpture' seeks to establish a rigorous framework for understanding the enduring power of the craft. This work remains a significant contribution to art history, of great value to students, practitioners, and anyone interested in the profound impact of sculptural expression throughout human history. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. This work was reproduced from the original artifact, and remains as true to the original work as possible. Therefore, you may see the original copyright references, library stamps (as most of these works have been housed in our most important libraries around the world), and other notations in the work. This work is in the public domain in the United States of America, and possibly other nations. Within the United States, you may freely copy and distribute this work, as no entity (individual or corporate) has a copyright on the body of the work.As a reproduction of a historical artifact, this work may contain missing or blurred pages, poor pictures, errant marks, etc. Scholars believe, and we concur, that this work is important enough to be preserved, reproduced, and made generally available to the public.
