Paperback. "Scouting on Two Continents" is a gripping first-hand account of adventure, exploration, and military scouting across the American West and the African veldt. Written by Major Frederick Russell Runham, this memoir details the life of a man who served as a scout during some of the most pivotal conflicts of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. From the rugged landscapes of the American frontier to the dangerous battlefields of the Matabele Wars in Africa, Runham provides a vivid narrative of survival, strategy, and bravery. The work captures the essence of a bygone era, offering readers a unique perspective on the skills required for scouting and reconnaissance in uncharted territories. It delves into the challenges of navigating diverse terrains, the complexities of colonial-era warfare, and the interactions between different cultures during a time of global expansion."Scouting on Two Continents" stands as a significant historical document, illustrating the transition from the old frontiers of North America to the emerging conflicts in Southern Africa.
