His name does not appear in history.
But his story was never about history.
Sasaky Kumbei is a samurai shaped by discipline, silence, and duty. In an age of war and ambition, he walks a different path, turning away from fame and power to seek understanding beyond the sword.
He travels across feudal Japan, learning from those who do not seek recognition, farmers, craftsmen, monks, and ordinary people whose lives reveal a deeper truth about strength and patience.
But beneath his calm, something remains untouched by time.
A love he never spoke.
A woman who chose another life.
A memory that never faded.
As the years pass and history unfolds around him, from battles to rising leaders and the fall of great names, Sasaky continues forward, carrying within him a quiet space where nothing has changed.
Until one day, the road leads him back.
Not to war.
Not to glory.
But to the place where everything began.
Set during the Sengoku period, this novel blends historical realism with a reflective, literary voice, offering a story where action exists, but meaning lies in what is left unspoken.
It is a story of discipline without pride,
of strength without display,
and of a love that does not demand, does not fade, and does not need to be fulfilled to remain true.
For readers who appreciate historical fiction with emotional depth, this is not just the story of a samurai, but of a man who carried silence, and love, through a lifetime.

Acerca del autor
Takezo Art (Constantin Mircea Roșu) is a Romanian engineer, writer, painter, and musician, moving constantly between logic and imagination. Although trained in engineering, his creative life belongs to stories, colors, sounds, and the quiet spaces between them.
He writes when inspiration calls, drawn by moments, voices, and memories. His fiction explores inner conflicts, distant worlds, and the invisible threads that bind people together. He also composes music and paints when words fall silent. For him, writing is not merely an art, but a quiet act of resistance against forgetting who we truly are.
Susan grew up picking and chopping cotton, irrigating cotton and alfalfa fields, riding horses, and working cattle on a farm and ranch in New Mexico, USA.
By the age of 19, she had traveled around the world alone, living with residents of each country she visited, following a year as a Rotary Exchange student in Australia.
Susan received a degree in Athletic Training at NMSU and was a licensed massage therapist and Realtor. She is the mother of two and grandmother of four.
An artist, editor, lyricist, proofreader, poet, songwriter, short story writer, and screenwriter, Susan met Takezo online while playing bridge on BBO during the COVID-19 pandemic. They continue to collaborate, although they have yet to meet in person.
