Paperback. Why can somebody understand a problem perfectly and still keep doing it? Why can two people arrive with the same problem and need entirely different work? And what happens when the method that worked brilliantly yesterday is exactly the wrong thing to use today?SANOMENTOLOGY is Martin Rothery's account of the practitioner system he developed for understanding and creating human change. It begins with a simple problem: people do not arrive as techniques. Anxiety, pain, sleep, addiction, confidence, trauma, identity and relationships are labels for experiences that can be organised in very different ways. A practitioner needs a map large enough to see what is actually happening, and enough judgement not to turn the map into another dogma.Rothery lays out the architecture behind Sanomentology: the Consciousness Codex; the roles of thought, body, automatic learning, identity, emotion, dreams and meaning; hypnosis and communication with the Unconscious; Dreamscaping and Interactive Lucid Dreaming; trauma and unfinished business; pain, healing, anxiety, sleep and addiction; practitioner judgement, boundaries, evidence and the more speculative edges of consciousness. This is not a training manual. It does not reproduce practitioner scripts or operational protocols. It explains how Sanomentology thinks, where its methods fit, what it claims, what it does not claim, and why useful change eventually has to survive ordinary life. For practitioners, students and readers interested in how human change works, this is an introduction to the architecture of Sanomentology. For practitioners, students and readers interested in how human change works, this is an introduction to the architecture of Sanomentology.
