Part one deals with the collection and distribution of weather information, as well as some of the author's thoughts on evaluating timeliness and accuracy. Part two covers several matters essential to the small boat sailor's understanding of the weather and preparation for dealing with it. Part three explains the basic mechanics of weather systems and how they form, move and dissipate. Contents include: onboard instruments; fog; oceans, freshwater lakes and rivers; heat, pressure and weather fronts; cyclonic and violent storms; and more.
