Book condition - Very Good ; contents clean, some foxing on flyleaves and half-title but rest of text block is clear, pencil inscriptions on half-title listing horses bought and dates (1889 to 1891), inner hinges intact and binding firm ; original, dark-brown cloth with gilt title on spine and title and binders crest in black on front and back boards resp., corners a little rubbed and bent, board edges intact, back clean with small-ish indentation towards base, spine complete with creasing at ends and bright gilt title, spine colour a trifle darkened, front clean with title complete and clear.
