Milo is like any dog...he loves to sleep and eat. But more than anything else, his favorite thing to do is run as fast as he can at the dog park once he hears the words, "Run Fast, Milo!"

From Julie Sola, a Nashville-based artist and designer, comes Run Fast, Milo!, a true-life tale of a puppy who loves nothing more than running fast. It’s a playful children’s book that will fuel a child’s imagination and find a home in any dog-lover’s heart. With bright, original illustrations, simple yet quirky sentences, and a relatable tale of gleeful exuberance, Run Fast, Milo! is a unique children’s book that can be enjoyed by a new reader while catching the creative eye of a parent.

Tapping into an artistic-style she honed at Hatch Print, in Nashville, TN, Sola typeset Run Fast, Milo! using antique Cheltenham type and her original hand-carved images before hand-printing it on a 1964 Vandercook proofing press. It’s this uncommon artistic approach that lends an appealing Southern and country-music flair to Milo’s cheerful tale and one that will have it standing out on the bookshelf of any home.

Run Fast, Milo! is a charming children’s book with an adventurous personality and a vintage and artistic hand-printed style.

An artist, designer, and printmaker working with linoleum and wood cuts, Julie Sola currently owns and operates Fat Crow Press, which specializes in design and illustration in Nashville, TN. Prior to Fat Crow Press, she was a designer and printer at the legendary Hatch Show Print, a 138-year old letterpress poster shop. Her unique hand-made illustrative style and her love for creating art that allows viewers to create their own story led her to write and illustrate children’s books. Her second children’s book, Possum Dreams, will be published by Spring House Press in March 2018.
