Tall hardback, approx 11 x 9 inches. In maroon cloth covers with gilt lettering to spine and front with elaborate gilt decoration to front. Decorative pattterned endpapers. In very good condition. Cloth rubbed on edges with some chips to top edges and corners. Partial crack to cloth at bottom rear spine corner. Some minor rubbing marks to boards. Endpapers clean, no previous owners inscriptions. Moderate foxing to halfitle page, main title page is clean and bright. Some mild foxing to inside pages throughout. Colour plates and tissue guards all clean and bright. Else a very good clean and tight copy. Unpaginated, (approx 55pp. 110 Quatrains.) Each page has two verses and a decorative border. Illustrated with 20 colour plates tipped-in on bordered mounts, all with titled tissue guards. Undated but small print says ?printed from the second edition of Messrs. Macmillan and Co.?
