Times are tough for Melchester Rovers. Languishing at the bottom of League Two, the once-proud powerhouse of British football is out of money and out of luck. Sixteen year old Roy Race always dreamt of playing up front for Rovers. Oozing with natural talent and possessing a powerful left foot, Roy may just be the answer to all of Melchester's prayers. Can Roy break into the Rovers first team and bring back the glory days of old? Or will the pressure of problems on and off the pitch prove too much for the young prospect?

Praise for the Roy of the Rovers series:
EPIC! - Match of the Day Magazine
I love the way that they are about so much more than football: they are about heart, values and family. Both graphic novel and fiction titles are compelling, engaging and a lot of fun. Lace up and get reading. - Jim Sells, Programme manager for Sport & Literacy, National Literacy Trust.
Read with my 7 year old who is football mad, really enjoyed it and left us wanting to read the next one in the series! - GoodReads Review

Rob Williams is the writer of Suicide Squad and Martian Manhunter for DC Comics, Unfollow for Vertigo and Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor for Titan Comics. His previous work for 2000 AD includes Judge Dredd: Titan, The Grievous Journey Of Ichabod Azrael (And The Dead Left In His Wake) and The Ten-Seconders, and he is currently writing Roy of the Rovers for Rebellion.
Ben Willsher got his break in comics in the ground-breaking Deadline magazine (home of Tank Girl), before being stolen by the world of computer games, where he has worked as an Art Director for many years. However, the lure of Comics was too strong and he came back to 2000 AD and has drawn Future Shocks, Pulp Sci-Fi, Tharg’s Terror Tales, Sinister Dexter, Damnation Station, but he is probably best known for his work on Judge Dredd. As well as reviving the uber cool grifter Lenny Zero, with original creator Andy Diggle, Willsher has just concluded a movie Dreddverse strip titled Dust. Beyond his accomplishments in the world of comics he has also worked in film, television and the music industry, and is heavily involved in the World of Doctor Who, where he has illustrated work for the Time Lord luminaries such as Russell T Davies, Mark Gatiss, and comic giant Neil Gaiman.
