Paperback. Edited by Gussai Sheikheldin, this volume traces Muzan Alneel's central argument: that development is not a technocratic exercise, but a struggle over power, livelihoods, and dignity - and that industrial policy, if designed from the standpoint of ordinary people, can be a vehicle for democratic transformation. The book opens with an introduction on Alneel's life and intellectual legacy, situating her work within Sudan's December Revolution and the wider debates on late industrialisation in the Global South. It then gathers key essays on people-centred industrial policy - from her evaluation of Sudan's post-2019 policy trajectory and its implications for sustainable development, to reflections on strategic governance, appropriate technology, and the challenges of industrialisation in conditions of war. A second section turns to revolution and counterrevolution, examining the endurance of Sudan's uprising and the organising power of Resistance Committees, alongside an interview on pathways for change. The final chapters expand outward to global solidarity, linking Sudan's struggle to Palestine and anti-imperialist development debates. The book closes with a curated set of tributes and obituaries, capturing the breadth of Alneel's impact and the urgency of her unfinished project. This posthumous collection serves as a radical blueprint for liberation, weaving together grassroots activism and economic theory to champion a future built on community power and global solidarity.
