Can play be the answer to some of our most significant and complex social challenges of the 21st Century? No one cures cancer, solves environmental challenges, or builds inclusion without the ability to play in the unknown and unexplored.Play gives us the inspiration and courage to confront, "what do we do when no one has the answer?" Play invites us to risk connection in the face of the unexpected and unfamiliar.
The ability to imagine solutions to some of our most significant challenges lies in gifts that we already have but that we might have let go of too soon. Reconnect to the best parts of yourself that you may have left on the playground. Play might be one of the most outstanding resume skills you are not including. In play, we are extraordinary! It's time to reinstate the power of the do-over. Join me on this journey as I show you that play is worth risking a little of yourself to become more yourself in the process.
From the science of play to personal communications with leaders like Seth Godin and Daniel Pink, Brandi Heather takes you on a journey back to childhood. She reminds us all that if we do not face the unexpected, new, and unfamiliar as children that we can find ourselves more prone to the fear of change and the unexpected as adults.
"Play is a willingness to not win and still be okay with the journey that's what it is for me." (personal communication, Seth Godin, September 2020) "The key is that play involves both taking risks and assuming good intent on the part of others. Both of those are in short supply today. But if we rehabilitate play, we might simultaneously resurrect our ability to get along and trust each other." (personal communication, Daniel Pink, September 2020)"
What Brandi touches is magic! A book that the world has awaited for the longest time. Now is the time to play, if not now, then when?"Susanne Mueller, "Take it from the Ironwoman" (Podcaster, author) Executive Coaching & Consulting, New York & Switzerland.

Descripción de la tienda
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
