Paperback. What if revolution isn't an event, but a process of cognition? We're taught to think of revolutions as ruptures - sudden, violent, historical. This book argues the opposite: that revolution, examined closely enough, dissolves into millions of individually checkable micro-revolutions - small acts of hypothesis and re-examination that either succeed quietly or, mishandled, escalate into brute force. Research Program Revolution builds a rigorous, testable architecture for understanding change of category - in science, in politics, in institutions, and in individual minds. Drawing on epistemology, Peircean abduction, Koselleck's conceptual history, and self-organized criticality from physics, it asks a question most theories of revolution never dare to make precise: not whether a revolution turns violent, but at exactly which point it does. Rather than offering another grand narrative, this book gives you an operative toolkit: a way to name the moment a category breaks, to state in advance when a theory should stop being applied, and to trace the difference between necessary compression and dogmatic enforcement. Inside, you will find: A framework that decomposes revolution into its smallest checkable unitThe "STOP condition" - how healthy paradigms build in their own expirationSeven historical fracture points, examined case by caseA honest accounting of what a static book cannot do - and where the living examination continuesA rare fusion of philosophy of science, history, and systems thinkingThis is not a book that tells you revolution is coming. It's a book that teaches you how to see one before it arrives - and how to tell the difference between a category that needs to change and a change that has gone wrong. For readers of epistemology, philosophy of science, intellectual history, and anyone who has ever wondered where exactly the line runs between reform and rupture. This item is printed on demand. We're taught to think of revolutions as ruptures — sudden, violent, historical. This book argues the opposite: that revolution, examined closely enough, dissolves into millions of individually checkable micro-revolutions — small acts of hypothesis and re-examination that either succeed quietly or, mishandled, escalate into brute force.
Research Program Revolution builds a rigorous, testable architecture for understanding change of category — in science, in politics, in institutions, and in individual minds.
Inside, you will find:
- A framework that decomposes revolution into its smallest checkable unit
- The "STOP condition" — how healthy paradigms build in their own expiration
- Seven historical fracture points, examined case by case
- A honest accounting of what a static book cannot do — and where the living examination continues
- A rare fusion of philosophy of science, history, and systems thinking
For readers of epistemology, philosophy of science, intellectual history, and anyone who has ever wondered where exactly the line runs between reform and rupture.
