Renewing Your Hope with the Lord’s Prayer
By Drs. Steven Childers and John Frame
What if the Lord’s Prayer is more than a way to pray? What if it’s the key to renewing your deepest Christian hope?
In this powerful Christian prayer book—the second volume of the Faith, Hope, and Love Trilogy—Steven Childers and John Frame invite you on a life-transforming journey through the Lord’s Prayer. It’s not just something to recite but a divine pathway to spiritual renewal, deeper prayer, and kingdom purpose.
Drawing from nearly a century of combined teaching and ministry, the authors help you recover a forgotten framework that once shaped Christian life for centuries—uniting faith (Apostles’ Creed), hope (Lord’s Prayer), and love (Ten Commandments). This ancient vision renews what Christians believe, where they place their deepest hope, and how they live in love and discipleship.
Written for pastors, church leaders, and thoughtful believers worldwide, this book blends biblical clarity, theological depth, and practical wisdom. Each chapter is a guided learning path for real-life transformation and spiritual formation. Don’t read it alone—walk through it with a friend, mentor, or small group. Let God renew your mind, stir your heart, and shape your life to be more like Christ.
This is more than a book on prayer. It’s a call to live with unshakable Christian hope, anchored in God’s kingdom promises and biblical truth.
All royalties support underserved church leaders worldwide.
Praise for Renewing Your Hope with the Lord’s Prayer“Rare is the book that unveils biblical truth with the depth of a scholar while keeping it accessible for the everyday believer... you will find the purest ore of truth from God’s Word. Read this book—and then read it again!”
— Dr. Ed Stetzer, Dean, Talbot School of Theology
“Drs. Childers and Frame deliver a feast of hope through an exposition of the Lord’s Prayer. It is a soul-filling repast that will change how you taste each word of this life-transforming prayer. Don’t wait—your table is set and waiting for you to dine.”
— Dr. Dan Allender, Professor and President, Seattle School of Theology and Psychology
“Each chapter combines a clear explanation, a well-informed discussion, a ‘whole Bible’ perspective, practical guidance, and recommendations for further study. Readers will receive the great reward of a deeper prayer life and an enriched relationship with God.”
— Dr. Wayne Grudem, Distinguished Research Professor Emeritus, Phoenix Seminary
“Renewing Your Hope with the Lord’s Prayer is a true gift to God’s people. It weaves rich theological truth with practical application. This book will transform your prayer life and help you glorify the God who meets us with his amazing grace and truth.”
— Dr. Steve Brown, Radio Broadcaster, Key Life Network
“I thank God for Steve Childers and John Frame, two of my most beloved seminary professors. Read this alone, and you’ll benefit. Gather a group to study together, and you’ll supercharge your learning. Glean every precious crumb you can from these two wise, insightful, spiritual, tested, resilient professors!”
— Rev. David Mathis, Executive Editor, Desiring God Ministries
“Here is an excellent resource for training in theology and practice. Childers and Frame use the Lord’s Prayer as a framework for teaching and training in the meaning and practice of prayer.”
— Dr. Vern Poythress, Distinguished Professor of New Testament and Systematic Theology, Westminster Theological Seminary
“After fifty years of seminary teaching, John Frame has much wisdom to impart. Teamed up with Steve Childers—with his decades of pastoring and teaching—we get a mature and seasoned theology for the church.”
