Descripción del artículo del vendedor

A remarkably bright copy of this uncommon work discussing French and British involvement in America. The third, corrected edition of this uncommon volume that has been attributed to both Charles Townshend and William Burke. In this letter written in response to John Douglas, the writer focusses on the aggressions of the French. In particular, the author argues against the proposal of surrendering Canada to conclude peace with France, and contends that full control of Canada could be maintained through the retention and safeguarding of certain limits and key positions. The pamphlet has also been attributed to William Burke, secretary to Guadeloupe, as the work also stresses the commercial importance of the island to Great Britain. Charles Townshend was a politician who accepted the role of Chancellor of the Exchequer in August 1766. His establishment of the controversial Townshend Acts of 1776 is considered one of the key causes of the American Revolution. William Burke was an English pamphleteer and politician. Undated. Dated using JISC from estimations of the British Library. No author given. Possible authors established using JISC, from evaluations of the British Library. Disbound. Externally, rather smart and bright. With a little cardboard to the spine. Internally, firmly bound, with bright and clean pages throughout. Very Good Indeed.…
