Neuware - 'Reinspecting Victorian Religion' offers a profound and analytical look at the spiritual currents and intellectual transformations of the 19th century. Derived from the Samuel Harris Lectures delivered at Bangor Theological Seminary in 1928, author Gaius Glenn Atkins provides what he terms a 'back to normal' critique of the Victorian age's religious and literary heritage. The work navigates the intricate connections between Victorian faith, social morality, and the literature of the time, seeking to understand the era's impact on the early 20th-century religious landscape.Atkins evaluates the shifts in theological perspective and the cultural forces that governed the Victorian mindset, addressing how these historical elements continued to resonate in the post-war world. By examining the works of prominent thinkers and the evolution of church life, the author provides a scholarly yet accessible retrospective on a period of intense religious debate and transition. This work is a valuable resource for those interested in church history, Victorian studies, and the intersection of faith and literature. 'Reinspecting Victorian Religion' stands as a significant historical document that captures a mid-20th-century perspective on the legacies of the preceding century. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. This work was reproduced from the original artifact, and remains as true to the original work as possible.
