Hardcover. Ravana - the sovereign emperor of Lanka, master of all four Vedas, a scholar unmatched in music and scripture, and Shiva's most devoted follower. Yet history has remembered him only as a villain. Rajat Bindal's Ravana: In Search of Moksha breaks that myth, giving Ravana a voice of his own for the first time - a soul exhausted by the curse of immortality, crushed under the weight of boundless knowledge carried in his ten heads, and adrift for centuries between power and peace. The story opens on a night in the palace of Lanka, as Ravana stands at the edge of his own tower, longing for release from his immortality. From there, the journey unfolds - Brahma's boon that made him invincible, his tangled bonds with family including Kaikasi and Vibhishana, his first glimpse of Sita at her swayamvar, the long wait in the Dandaka forest, the deception of the golden deer, and finally the war itself - where, as a father, his greatest sin, the sacrifice of his son Meghnad, forces him to confront the truth of what he has become. The entire narrative is framed as a manuscript, read by Mandodari after the war ends - right up to Ravana's final letter, in which he admits that in his search for liberation, he chose the hardest and most painful path of all. Mandodari's grief, her anger, and her eventual understanding move the reader almost as deeply as Ravana's own pain. This item is printed on demand.
