Paperback. Professor Constant has finally completed his scientific study, but before he can unveil his work he soon realises there is no way of controlling what he does not understand and he is pursued across the city by the results of his bizarre experiments. This unique dystopian novel tells the tale of an obese purple fly, a headless dog named Ralph and the city's one remaining can of fly spray. Reviews: "It is a page-turner with the pace quickening midway through and keeping the tension building until the end. The premise behind the story is not like anything else you will have read and we are swept up in it so that reason is suspended and we just have to go with it." *Five Stars* - Kate Hopkinson on 23 Aug. 2014 "An excellent and rather mad account of a purple fly, a headless dog and the maddening state of endless ambition. I found myself completely gripped by the final two chapters, slowing my reading pace hugely in an effort to cling to ever word and not miss a thing." *Five Stars* - Ben on 14 July 2014 "Brunt's novella is a satire of both bureaucracy and scientific excess reminiscent of Mikhail Bulgakov's The Fatal Eggs. Mixing absurdities with looming threat, it leaves the reader uncertain whether the narrator is falling into madness or standing alone against terrible danger." *Four Stars* - Dave Higgins on 11 July 2014 "This novel will leave you with so many unanswered questions, which in reality, will send the readers imagination in many different possible directions." *Five Stars* - Simon Burnett on 12 July 2014 "Brunt's writing itself should not be overlooked. His prose is beautiful and engaging, and reminds me for whatever reason of the great Albert Camus. I particularly loved the dialogue which was direct and powerful." *Four Stars* - N.C.N. on 15 July 2014 This item is printed on demand.
