Sinopsis
This second volume is dedicated to public work and equipment constructed by Eduardo Souto de Moura over the past 15 years and, together with the previous one titled “Dweling”, it constitutes a decisive editorial effort to understand in detail the last work of the great Portuguese master. The whole of the works presented in the almost 500 pages of the monograph covers a wide range of typologies and scales: from a series of rehabilitations and interventions on the built; up to large-scale infrastructures such as the Oporto metro or the intervention in the hydroelectric power station of the Tua barrage; passing through small pavilion buildings such as those of Vilaverde and the Azores; or themes as varied as a crematorium, a cultural center, a hotel or a multipurpose sports hall. This enormous diversity is also represented in the variety of the extensive constructive information included in the monograph, which covers multiple details and material solutions. In his public works, Eduardo Souto de Moura has gained breadth and complexity in recent decades, and while maintaining some of his recognizable invariables, other new elements have been added enriching his already extensive range of solutions. Undoubtedly, this is an essential document for all those who want to deepen in the production of the Pritzker Luso Prize, containing unique documentation never published before.
