Paperback. "Psallite: Catholic English Hymns" is a comprehensive collection of sacred music curated by Alexander Roesler, specifically designed for use within the Catholic tradition. This volume serves as an essential resource for both congregational worship and private spiritual reflection, offering a wide array of hymns that capture the profound theological and emotional depth of the faith. The collection features a diverse selection of English-language hymns, ranging from traditional liturgical chants to more contemporary devotional songs of its era. Each piece is selected to support the various seasons of the liturgical year, including Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter, as well as specific sacraments and feasts of the Church. By bringing together these melodic expressions of prayer, Roesler provides a bridge between the musical heritage of the Church and the needs of the English-speaking faithful. As a significant historical contribution to Catholic hymnody, "Psallite: Catholic English Hymns" highlights the importance of sacred song in the life of the believer.
