Print on Demand. This book delves into the timeless and complex questions surrounding war, morality, and the meaning of history. Through a series of engaging dialogues, the author explores diverse perspectives on war: from the traditional view of it as a noble and sacred duty, to the modern critique that denounces it as barbaric and destructive. Set against the backdrop of a changing world where long-held beliefs are being challenged, the discussions grapple with the evolving role of the military in society and the ethical implications of armed conflict. The author skillfully navigates through historical and philosophical arguments, revealing the tensions between deeply ingrained traditions and the burgeoning calls for peace. By juxtaposing contrasting viewpoints and delving into the spiritual dimensions of war, this book challenges readers to confront their own assumptions and grapple with the profound moral dilemmas that lie at the heart of human conflict. Ultimately, it offers a compelling exploration of the struggle against evil, leaving us with a deeper understanding of the challenges and possibilities that lie ahead in our pursuit of a more just and peaceful world. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

Reseña del editor
Is evil only a natural defect, an imperfection dis appearing of itself with the growth of good, or is it a real power, possessing our world by means of temptations, so that for fighting it successfully assistance must be found in another sphere of being? This vital question can be fully examined and solved only in a complete system of metaphysics.
I began carrying out this task for those who are capable of contemplation,1 but I soon felt how im portant the problem of evil is for everybody. Some two years ago a change in the tenor Of my spiritual life, which there is no need to dwell upon just now, created in me a strong and firm desire to illumine in some clear and easy way the main aspects of the problem of evil, which must concern everybody. For a long time I was unable to find a suitable medium for carrying out my plan. In the spring of 1899, however, during my stay abroad, I spontaneously composed and wrote in a few days the first discussion on this subject, and on returning to Russia wrote the two others. In this way I dis covered the literary form which this work assumes.
