Original blind-ruled brown cloth, titles faded but still legible to spine, original canary yellow endpapers. There is minor damage to cloth where top corner of rear board was once "banged." Some lists of names in pencil to preliminary blanks (only), all dated (19)07 -- possibly a list of medical appointments. (The "Widow Nes" appears twice.) Publishers advertisements at rear dated "June, 1892;" no later dates. Spelling of Plato's "Gorgias" has been corrected from the original "Georgias" to verso of third leaf, indicating this is the second printing in the initial year of publication. 1,079 pp. including index, followed by 14 pp. publishers ads. Publishers advertisements at rear dated "November 1891," not spring or summer 1892, as often found with second-state copies (though both the texts advertised on "The Diseases of Women" and on the "Science and Art of Midwifery" are, of course, authored by men.) Plato's "Gorgias" still misspelled "Georgias" to verso of sixth leaf, NOT yet corrected here. There are a few sparing pencil notes in the section on parasitical worms, pp. 1035-1039.
