Primitive Sun Dials or Scratch Dials. Containing a List of those in Somerset. By Dom Ethelbert Horne and printed in Taunton by Barnicott and Pearce. 1917. 90 pp. 8.75” x 5.75”. Hardcover full cloth. Overall good, with light scuffing to exterior. Hinges remain in good condition. Frontispiece partly loose at top, with remainder of text block bound well. Inscribed “With the Author’s Compliments” at front. Includes an assortment of black-and-white photographic plates throughout. Ex-libris bookplate at front. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce piece of ancient British history, with information concerning the remains of various sundials found in Somerset.
