Paperback. "Primitive Christian Application of the Doctrine of the Servant" is a profound scholarly exploration of how the early Christian community integrated and transformed the Old Testament concept of the "Servant of Yahweh" into their foundational theology. This work meticulously examines the ways in which the primitive Church utilized the prophecies of Isaiah-particularly the "Suffering Servant" passages-to interpret the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The study delves into the historical and exegetical processes that allowed early believers to find deep Messianic significance in Jewish scripture, bridging the gap between Hebrew tradition and emerging Christian thought. By analyzing the linguistic and theological nuances of the New Testament writers, the author illustrates the central role that the Servant doctrine played in shaping early Christology and the self-understanding of the first-century Church. This volume serves as an invaluable resource for students of biblical studies, church history, and historical theology. It offers a clear window into the intellectual and spiritual labor of the earliest Christians as they sought to articulate the unique identity of Jesus through the lens of ancient prophetic tradition. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
