Sinopsis:

The increasing incidence of non-specific neck pain especially in the young adults, due to a changing lifestyle with reduced sleep and physical activity, increased use of cell phones, tablets and computers both for work and entertainment; maintenance of awkward postures for long durations warrants the need to study the prevalence of neck pain in young adults. Despite the availability of remarkable battery of tests and scales to measure and assess neck pain, there is paucity of reliable and valid tools which could help study the association of the above-mentioned risk factors with non-specific neck pain. Thus, the current study aimed to develop a validated and reliable questionnaire to understand the association of modifiable risk factors the modern, urban, technological, sedentary young adults are subjected to, with nonspecific neck pain. There have been few studies till date that sought to identify the prevalence and risk factors of neck pain in the young adults, the future work force of the country. It is essential to recognize the possible risk factors among them in the current time so that development of neck pain can be prevented. Further in the study the point and annual prevalence were estimated, and regression analysis revealed the risk factors associated with non-specific neck pain in young adults.
