What if the past could gently teach us how to live today?
When siblings Alexandra (Bean), Elsie, and little Nate discover an old wooden truck waiting at the edge of a field, they are quietly carried somewhere unexpected—into a wide, whispering prairie where life moves slower and simpler things matter most.
There, the days are filled with gathering eggs, baking bread, carrying water from the creek, and working together under a sky full of fireflies and stars. Time stretches. Patience grows. And love shows up in small, steady ways—helping without being asked, taking turns when things feel hard, and caring for one another simply because it feels right.
When the prairie wind returns them home, everything looks the same—but the children are changed. They bring back more kindness, more care, and a deeper understanding of what it means to be together.
The Prairie Between Then and Now is a gentle, lyrical picture book celebrating:
-
sibling bonds and teamwork
-
patience, responsibility, and empathy
-
the joy of simple, meaningful moments
-
the quiet wisdom passed between generations
Perfect for children ages 3–8, this story is an invitation to slow down, listen closely, and remember that sometimes the most important lessons are carried on the wind.
