Publishers capitalized on the interests of young female readers, especially, bringing tales of strong, willful heroines to life between the cheap paper covers of these books.
Acerca del autor: Mrs. Henry J. Thomas was the most mysterious writer to ever work for the House of Beadle. In fact, we don't even know her true name; she wrote under the names Mr. Henry Thomas and Mrs. Henry Thomas. In addition to being a popular author, she was also a prostitute.
