Paper over boards is heavily edge worn with overall shelf wear as well. Chipping to extremities of spine and heavy wear to corners. Important work by Richard Bartlett Gregg (1885-1974), an American social philosopher said to be "the first American to develop a substantial theory of nonviolent resistance" based on the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, and so influenced the thinking of Martin Luther King Jr., Aldous Huxley, civil-rights theorist Bayard Rustin, the pacifist and socialist reformer Jessie Wallace Hughan, and the Peace Pledge Union.
