Sinopsis
Power line communications (PLC) is quickly taking root worldwide as an excellent alternative to Ethernet and Wi-Fi in private homes, buildings without Ethernet pre-wiring, and areas where Internet access is difficult. Here at last is everything telecom engineers need to know about the technology, applications, equipment, design, and installation in a single convenient source. The first English-language reference of its kind, this benchmark resource brings engineers quickly up to speed on PLC network architecture, functionalities, security issues, and applications. It describes PLC equipment, and addresses key issues involved with PLC installation and configuration before spelling out step-by-step procedures for deploying PLC networks in homes. The book provides design guidelines for large-scale PLC business networks spanning network architecture, equipment selection, configuration, security, and other key factors.
