Book condition: good, very scarce 1820 second edition, spine replaced, subtitle continues: "with remarks, attempting to ascertain, chiefly from local observation, the actual scene of the deserted village; and illustrative engravings, by Mr. Alkin, from drawings taken on the spot." all six engravings present, including frontis, boards feature decorative paper with leather corners which are heavily scuffed, moderate scuffing to perimeter, spine features title sticker which shows a deep dent into the hinge but does not effect the binding, note in pencil on ffep, some staining to pastedowns, front endpapers show bleed through from frontis, some darkening to text block overall interior very clean, binding tight, 182 pages, 8.5 X 11 inches.
