From the Pit to the Process (Paperback)

From the Pit to the Process

How God Redeems Betrayal, Trauma, and Delay

Joseph's story is often told as one of dreams and promotion.

But before the palace... there was a pit.

Before the crown... there was betrayal.

Before the authority... there were years of silence, false accusation, imprisonment, and being forgotten.

In From the Pit to the Process, Dr. Delisa Rodgers takes readers beneath the familiar Sunday school version of Joseph's life and into the deeper reality of his journey-one marked by family trauma, emotional survival, and the mysterious process God uses to prepare people for purpose.

Joseph was:
- Betrayed by the brothers who should have protected him
- Trafficked into a foreign land
- Falsely accused and imprisoned for doing the right thing
- Forgotten by the very person who could have helped him

Yet Scripture repeatedly declares:

"But the LORD was with Joseph." - Genesis 39:2

Through a powerful blend of biblical insight, trauma-informed understanding, and prophetic perspective, this book reveals how God works within the painful chapters of our lives to produce healing, wisdom, and fruitfulness.

Inside this book, you will discover:

- Why betrayal does not cancel your calling
- The difference between forgiveness and trust
- How survival identities form during trauma
- Why God sometimes allows the process instead of removing it
- The moment Joseph's tears became his breakthrough
- How God restores more than what was taken

Scripture reminds us:

"For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance." - Romans 11:29

The pit did not destroy Joseph's destiny.

The prison did not cancel his calling.

And the same God who was with Joseph in the pit is still with you in your process.

If you have ever felt betrayed, forgotten, delayed, or wounded by the very people who should have protected you, this book will help you understand how God transforms pain into purpose and suffering into fruitfulness.

Because sometimes the pit is not the end of the story.

Sometimes it is the beginning of the process.
