In 1921, air mail was in trouble! A relay flight across America could save it, but the pilots faced many dangers.
When Jack Knight landed his plane in snowy Omaha, the next pilot in the relay was missing. Their mission was about to fail, but Jack refused to quit. Even though he was tired, he took off into the freezing night sky. Using a simple paper map, the glow of bonfires, and city lights to guide him, Jack flew 424 dangerous miles in the dark to deliver the mail to Chicago.
Pilot Jack Knight is the true story of this American hero. Beginning in 1903, when Jack is just ten years old, it follows along as he enlists in the Army hoping to fly in the war in Europe. Learn about his youth, his time in the military, and his brave flight that changed aviation history forever!
